Borca's rural origins are rooted in centuries of peasant and pastoral life, when survival depended on harmony with the mountains. Each season dictated a precise rhythm: haymaking in the summer, felling the forest in the fall, tending the animals in the stables during the winter, and the return to life outdoors in the spring.
Even today, strolling through the hamlets of Villanova, Corte, or Cancia, you can observe the tabià (typical wooden barns), dry-stone walls, stone fountains, and small family gardens, silently evoking a culture of doing: simple, ingenious, and durable.
